salvaging bug? - Guild Wars Forums

i found a blue (rare) stalker armor. when i use an id kit, it said i unlocked a minor rune of protection prayers. when i salvaged it using an expert kit, all i got was 3 cloth and no rune. is that a bug?

i also salvaged a blue axe with 12% armor pen when health is below 50% using and expert kit. all i got was 3 ores.

my question is, is that a bug or do you have a chance that nothing will come from a rare salvage?

It is not 100% chance even with Expert Salvage kit I believe. It has happened to me numerous times.

MY understanding is that with a standard kit you have no chance, and with an expert kit you have some chance, but it's far from guaranteed.

its like a 25% chance i think, same thing happened to me a few times, got one rune ouyt of 4 tries

Oh I was wondering what happened when I salvaged a regular white item and it said rune unlocked, but I never got it.

considering how rare it is to get these armors with runes, why would they make it chancy to salvage items. it goes against the little grind policy.

i'm still thinking it's a bug :P

not necessarily

the armor was left behind instead of being taken

possibly damaged and the rune was damaged as well so no salvage
